Need help finding or proving your Patriot ancestor? We can help you begin.
Many prospective members are not sure where to start. Our chapter can help you review what you know, organize your family line, identify possible Patriot ancestors, and understand what documents may be needed for an SAR application.
What to Gather
-Your full name, date of birth, and place of birth -Your parents’ full names, dates, and places of birth -Your grandparents’ full names, dates, and places of birth -Any known family surnames connected to colonial America -Any family trees, Bible records, obituaries, cemetery records, census records, or prior DAR/SAR/C.A.R. applications -Any stories about Revolutionary War service in your family
