The SAR is dedicated to sustaining and preserving our history and Constitutional Principles for our members and the public.
The purpose of the Sons of the American Revolution are patriotic, historical, and educational. These include:
- Perpetuating the memory of Revolutionary War Patriots.
- Preserving the records of Revolutionary War Patriots.
- Marking the locations of the Revolution.
- Promoting fellowship amoung their decendents.
- Celebrating anniversaries of the Revolution.
- Inspiring the community with a reverence for the principles of goverment founded by our forefathers.
- Maintaining and extending the institutions of American freedom. Encouraging historical research of the American Revolution.
- Carrying out the purposes of the Preamble of the Constitution.
- Following the injunctions of Washington’s farewell addtress to the American People.
We do this by perpetuating the stories of patriotism, courage, sacrifice, tragedy, and triumph of the men who achieved the independence of the American people. We believe these stories are universal to man’s eternal struggle against tyranny, relevant to all time, and will inspire and strengthen each succeeding generation as it too is called upon to defend our freedoms on the battlefield and in our public institutions.

By protecting our Constitution and perpetuating American ideals and traditions.
Shaping the Young
By educating our youth about the Constitution and those who developed the American ideals and traditions.
CFLSAR History
The Central Florida Chapter was established by the Florida Society of the Sons of the American Revolution (FLSSAR) in 1961. Our Chapter has served its members, family members and our community since its formation. According to Article II of the Constitution of the National Society Sons of the American Revolution (NSSAR) our objects are declared to be Patriotic, Historical and Educational. It is the intention of the NSSAR to perpetuate the memory of those patriots who, by their services or sacrifices during the war of the American Revolution, achieved the independence of the American People.
Meetings – Where & When
The Central Florida Chapter meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month, 6 PM, at the Elks Club Winter Park, 4755 Howell Branch Road, Winter Park. Dinner is served shortly after the opening. We do not have scheduled meetings during the summer months (June, July, and August).
